Mi casa es su casa. My house is your house. From July 14, 2010 through August 14, 2010 I will be documenting home items which are placed on the street within the following city blocks: Western Ave. eastward to Vermont Ave. and between Franklin Ave. south to Fountain Ave. in Los Angeles. This project is an investigation of how we treat our surroundings, the disposable nature of goods and the sociological and environmental implications of how we live within a community.

"...bringing forth instead a recessive desire: the want for a single stable home, a home not set on axels and wheels." Salvador Plascencia
I ran into Julie, a woman in her fifties, who passed me as she went for her walk. After asking me what i was doing she wanted to know if I was going to clean it up. I explained to her that i was documenting and that I am planning to contact Eric Garcetti when the one month is over. Julie would not allow her photo to be taken, she was out for a walk and didn't feel she looked good enough for it. She said, "it would be nice if everybody worked together and did something so that we can feel good about walking in our neighborhood. So that the things are clean and we can enjoy where we live." She gave me her address to stop by sometime to have conversation, coffee and cake with herself and her husband.
